{"id":944,"date":"2015-04-27T01:54:26","date_gmt":"2015-04-27T01:54:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/franchlife.com\/?p=944"},"modified":"2015-05-05T00:56:58","modified_gmt":"2015-05-05T00:56:58","slug":"thats-not-the-end-of-the-story","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/franchlife.com\/?p=944","title":{"rendered":"That&#8217;s Not the End of the Story"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A few days after the recent drama with our goat, I was driving our children to their piano lesson. \u00a0Our conversation was about the stories I write as we live life on the franch. \u00a0My daughter said, \u201cIf you ever write a book about all this, you will never be able to write \u2018The End.\u2019 \u00a0Something just always keeps happening. \u00a0You\u2019d have to end it with &#8216;Just The Beginning.'&#8221; \u00a0That made me smile. \u00a0I think we\u2019d wake up each morning with a little more satisfaction about our lives if we started each day like we \u2018re always just beginning. \u00a0Although, I can think of plenty of life circumstances where you\u2019d want the story to be at its end. \u00a0For us, we\u2019re living one of those right now &#8211; it\u2019s the story of our hurt goat. \u00a0At first, she seemed to be miles down the road to recovery after that major laceration. \u00a0The story was supposed to be finished. \u00a0But, sadly, Hannah has started to show signs of a serious infection. \u00a0Her leg is swollen and she has quit bearing weight on it. \u00a0Food and water no longer interest her. \u00a0A high rectal temperature suggests possible sepsis. \u00a0My husband removed the sutures from the wound and now cleans it out twice a day. \u00a0We\u2019re administering antibiotics. \u00a0To keep her from getting dehydrated, the kids have learned how to syringe feed her an electrolyte solution multiple times a day. \u00a0We are all taking turns collecting fresh leaves from her favorite trees for her to munch on. \u00a0And lastly, the children have added Hannah to our prayer list for our nightly family devotions. \u00a0She&#8217;s only a bit better as of today. \u00a0We\u2019re praying Hannah\u2019s story has a happy ending so that the kid growing inside her has a chance at a beginning.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_951\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/franchlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/IMG_4421.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-951\" class=\"wp-image-951 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/franchlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/IMG_4421-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_4421\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/franchlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/IMG_4421-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/franchlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/IMG_4421-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/franchlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/IMG_4421-676x507.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-951\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Good news!
